The Alaska Small Business Persons

The Alaska Small Business Persons of the Year for 2011 are Tim Adams and Phillip Brower, owners of Sharps Billiards in Kenai Fendi Sunglasses . Brower came up with the idea for Sharps 22 years ago, but he only wrote a business plan for the company in 2003. It took five years to make it happen, with the help of a U.S. Small Business Administration-guaranteed loan. The founders built a non-smoking, non-alcoholic, family-friendly entertainment venue. Sharps Billiards also believes in being good stewards of the community Roberto Cavalli Sunglasses, helping to promote a positive environment through a deep respect and understanding of the responsibility we all share for one another. Since Sharps opened on May 24, 2008, it has received numerous accolades as a strong contributor to promoting a healthy community. Sharps Billiards is also recognized as a pioneer in its approach to setting a new standard of excellence in the billiard industry. Sharps was recognized by Billiards Digest Magazine in its November 2008 issue, as No. 8 in the top 10 new billiard rooms in America Ferragamo Sunglasses. The owners are in the process of putting together a franchise package that will offer their unique combination of billiard success to others across the country. Alaska Small Business Development Center is assisting them.
